The 2022 Kia EV6 is available at five trim levels: Light (RWD), Wind (RWD), Wind (e-AWD), GT-Line (RWD), and GT-Line (e-AWD).

Performance

Powering the all-new Kia EV6 is a permanent magnet AC synchronous electric motor. This can be paired with one of two battery options: 59 kWh or 77.4 kWh. With the 59 kWh battery — which is standard on the base Light (RWD) model — you can expect to go as far as 232 miles on a single charge.[1] The higher capacity 77.4 kWh battery is standard on all other EV6 models. Rear-wheel drive, or RWD, trims can get up to 310 miles of range with this battery while the electronic all-wheel drive (e-AWD) models get up to 274 miles.[1] If you’re looking for the most thrilling driving experience, consider the Wind and GT-Line e-AWD models, which offer a whopping 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque.

Of course, along with being efficient, the new EV6 is also easy to power up. Charging can be done on the go or at home. When charging at home with a Level 2 240-volt charger, you can have a full battery by the time you get up in the morning. With the Kia Connect mobile app, you can remotely access info regarding the EV6’s charging status, when it charges, and prepare the interior with cooling or heating. On the go, you can use 400-volt or 800-volt DC fast chargers to power up. With the 800-volt DC fast charger, you’ll ad 217 miles of range to your EV6 in just 18 minutes.[2]

The 2022 EV6 comes with 1,000 kWh of complimentary charging credits for the Electrify America network. This equals out to approximately 3,500-4,000 miles of driving range.[3] For reference, there are almost 30 public Level 2 and Level 3 charging station ports in Daytona Beach, with nearly 4,000 Level 2 ports in the state of Florida.
 

Design

Beyond its exceptional eco-conscious powertrain, the new EV6 makes a statement visually everywhere it goes. The exterior is ultra-modern and fully embraces the Kia “Opposites United” design philosophy of taking cues from nature and everyday life. In the front is a “Digital Tiger” grille that gives new life to the iconic Kia tiger nose design. Flanked by that new grille are sequential headlamps with a dynamic light pattern. As you move to the sides of the vehicle, you’ll find sculpted lines that give the SUV a sense of motion — even when standing still. Those swooping cuts extend to the back of the EV6 and its high rear deck that serves as a spoiler.

You’ll be able to customize your EV6 quite a bit, too. The electric Kia SUV is available in eight colors, depending on the trim you choose, like the vibrant Runway Red and the cool Yacht Blue. Of course, there are more sophisticated options like Interstellar Gray, Glacier, Aurora Black Pearl, and Steel Gray. The alloy wheels are available in two sizes and two finishes: 19-inch Dark Gray painted, 19-inch Black painted, and 20-inch Black painted.

When it comes to function, the 2022 EV6 is equipped with various exterior features to suit your needs. For starters, the side mirrors are power-folding, heated, and come with integrated turn signals. Meanwhile, the flush door handles improve aerodynamics and efficiency while automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers make every drive safer in Florida rain showers. The available Smart Power Tailgate automatically opens when you have your Smart Key on you, making loading and unloading cargo simple. You can also accessorize your EV6 with many Kia accessories like a roof bike attachment, a roof cargo basket, wheel locks, tow hitch harness, surfboard attachment, and more!

 

Interior

The cabin of the 2022 Kia EV6 is spacious and sustainable. Recycled plastic is used extensively throughout the interior. The seats are also made from recycled materials on the base trim while all other models use exclusively vegan leather. These eco-friendly amenities won’t be lacking in comfort, though. The standard eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar adds much-needed support on long drives. All models also come with a driver’s seat and outside mirror Integrated Memory System to easily switch drivers.

Additional standard perks include heated front seats, 100% LED lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a vegan leather steering wheel. As you move through the trim levels of the new Kia EV6, you’ll find various amenities like alloy pedals, a power sunroof, a sport-design steering wheel, and ventilated front seats.

The EV6 also boasts impressive storage options for all of your stuff. With the rear 60/40-split folding seats down, you’ll have up to 50.2 cubic feet of space to utilize. With those seats up, you’ll still have 24.2 cubic feet of space. In addition to the traditional storage options in the back, you’ll find smart solutions throughout the cabin. Front seatback-integrated coat hangers and map pockets are standard and are great for non-conventional items. There’s also storage available in and under the center console as well as in the illuminated glove box.

Technology

As expected, the modern feel of the 2022 Kia EV6 extends to its technology offerings. You’ll have nearly 25 inches of continuous screen space to use thanks to the dual 12.3-inch panoramic connectivity displays. The infotainment screen pairs quickly and easily with standard features like SiriusXM® satellite radio, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, Bluetooth®, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. A wireless phone charger is also standard, as are the four USB-C ports (with some in the back row) and one USB-A media port. For the ultimate in music, choose the Wind (RWD) model and above for the 14-speaker Meridian premium audio system with an external amplifier and subwoofer.

It’s not all fun and games, though. Some of the smart tech in the EV6 is reserved to keep you safe.
